About
Hi, I'm Karly, though around here I go by the Rambling Moth.
I live somewhere in the South, where the cicadas sing and the moths gather around the porchlights. I've been writing since I was twelve. I took a shine to it early, and I don't know if any of it is worth a damn, but that has never stopped me.
What I write
Anything that makes moth brain go brr. I'm drawn to romance, fantasy, and a little science fiction, especially slow-growing love, guarded hearts, and the quiet moments when characters finally let someone in. I like a little magic, a little ache, and tenderness tucked between chaos.
Sometimes that means wandering through worlds I already love in fanfiction. I have quite a few, and you never know which fictional world this moth will flutter into next. Other times it means following a stray thought until it becomes a story, or simply a ramble.
What I ramble about
Books, fictional characters I get far too attached to, crochet, whatever I'm making for dinner, and the curious little things that send me down a rabbit hole. Sometimes it's everyday life and big feelings. Sometimes it's a stray thought that apparently needed six paragraphs. The moth follows whatever catches the light.
When I'm not chasing words
I'm usually tangled in yarn. I'm the crochet artist behind Ponkie's Creations, and I love turning an idea into something I can hold. Reading, gaming, cooking, and trying other crafts fill the spaces between. There's almost always a project in progress, and another quietly tempting me from the corner.
Lately
Reading: Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman
Watching: various Star Trek shows
Playing: way too many video games
The other moth
I share my little patch of porchlight with my husband, Jason, who also writes. Two moths, a collection of stories, and a tendency to follow an idea long after we should have gone to bed.
Pull up a chair. The porch light's on.
